Clear Plastic Aligners
Orthodontic correction with Invisalign allows patients to straighten their smiles without the highly visible wire and bracket system involved in traditional metal braces. With Invisalign, you can correct most orthodontic issues like gapped, crooked, or crowded teeth. Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to gently move your teeth towards the proper position.
Benefits of Invisalign
- Clear aligners are transparent and invisible when worn, so you can correct your teeth without anyone noticing.
- Invisalign is removable, so you can eat and drink what you want throughout your treatment.
- Your speech won’t be affected, so you can remain confident throughout treatment even if you speak in public.
Gentle Orthodontic Correction
How Invisalign Works
Though Invisalign does not use brackets, wires, or rubber bands, treatment still uses the same basic principle of orthodontic correction as metal braces. The plastic aligners are custom made to gently shift your teeth in the proper direction to give you a straight, more aesthetically-pleasing smile.

Invisalign Treatment Process
Your treatment process begins with an initial consultation at Bucks Mont Orthodontics. At your appointment, Dr. Patel will examine your mouth and determine whether Invisalign is right for you and your smile. If so, detailed images and impressions will be taken of your teeth, and Dr. Patel will work closely with the Invisalign lab to develop your personalized treatment plan.
Once your aligners are created, you’ll wear them for 20-22 hours per day, and swap them out for a new set every 2 weeks. Every 4-6 weeks, you’ll come in for a brief checkup to ensure that your treatment is on track.
Know What to Expect
How to Get the Most Out of Treatment
During treatment, it is critical to wear your aligners for 22+ hours per day. You will feel some pressure on your teeth when you first start wearing a new set of your aligners, but this will subside after a few days. It is also important to follow Dr. Patel’s treatment instructions to care for your teeth and aligners, and avoid eating or drinking while wearing your aligners, which could damage or stain them and set back your treatment.
Choosing Orthodontic Treatment
Invisalign vs. metal Braces
The main difference between metal/ceramic braces and Invisalign is that Invisalign uses plastic trays instead of brackets, wires, and rubber bands to adjust the position of your teeth. Invisalign is also less likely to impact your daily lifestyle, as you can remove the aligners to eat and drink.
Wearing Your Aligners Properly
We recommend that you wear your aligners as much as possible. Every minute you spend without your aligners in place is a minute that they are not correcting your smile. As a rule, you should remove your aligners only when eating or drinking, and when brushing and flossing. Aim to wear your aligners for 22 hours per day, and 20 hours at a minimum. If you are not diligent about wearing your aligners, your treatment may take much longer.
